Women Veteran Owned Business Spotlight: Laura-Faye Fitness

Laura-Faye, an Ex-Military Transformation Coach and business owner gives her top tips for fitness and some background on her own experiences:

After 11 years service as an RAF engineer who struggled my way through fitness in my career, I decided to become a coach to help women both serving and veterans to get the advice and coaching they need to actually get to their goals. Being in a male dominated job with not everyone who wants to necessarily engage in being the healthiest and fittest, I really believe I can help change that and give the coaching, the service and the community that I wish I had when I was serving and when I left whilst still being able to enjoy the social life that military life brings.

My top 3 tips for anyone who is struggling with their fitness and health are-

1 - Start lifting weights, lunchtime circuits have a place but they aren't going to get you to your goals or help build that strong base for when we age, as we know, muscle mass decreases as we age and as women we need it to help tackle the effects and symptoms of aging and menopause (something not widely spoken about)

2 - Your nutrition matters, this is something we don't get much advice on and honestly, it is they key to not only a balanced lifestyle but also to achieving your goals.

3 - Get a coach, even if its for a month, learn some basics and i can assure you you won't regret it, it will save you years. I spent 11 years service going round in circles but if i had found someone like me out there to help, i would have jumped.
