Evidence Review
Phase one of this programme has been to establish a robust evidence base. We have reviewed over 60 research papers from across the UK veterans sector (commercial, statutory and charity) to produce an Evidence Review.
Statement of Need
Our Statement of Need provides a succinct and visual representation of female veterans’ needs, such as support on employment and finance, access to services, bullying and discrimination.
FiMT Research Centre
Whilst our team will be keeping apprised of new research, the FiMT Research Centre hosts a repository of research which we recommend if you want to find research about female veterans in the UK context. It can be searched for keywords (e.g. women) to find something relevant.

Consultation & Co-design
We produced an online consultation questionnaire for female veterans and support services, followed by a range of face to face and online focus groups. In total we heard from over 800 people in this phase.

Communications
Our consultation and co-design phase showed that one of the largest areas female veterans felt could be improved was communications from service providers. This checklist covers the prevalent points to make your communication more inclusive and inviting for female veterans. Click the checklist below to download the file.
A Person Centred Approach
Female veterans have unique needs and should be treated individually when determining the right support. A person-centred approach considers their specific needs, strengths, and preferences, allowing for tailored support focussing on what matters most to them. Click the guide below to download the file.
