OVA Dashboard Update
The OVA dashboard has had an update! The new look is far more user friendly with maps and tables for ease of reading.
Some of the highlights include
Data now includes Scotland, but not NI. However, research is underway to estimate the figures in NI as the latest data is 2019.
13.4% are female veterans.
This is split down into ages so we can see that the majority of female veterans are over 50, but there are 1046 identified in the youngest group of 16-17, showing a need to offer support across the whole age spectrum.
Slight change in geography with Southeast now having the highest, followed by the SW, this is also now available by gender.
Ethnicity is also now available by gender with 14420 female veterans from ethnic minority groups.
Data for Wales only is available and again now available by gender - 15952 FV in Wales.
Economic activity is available and demonstrates females are more likely to be economically inactive.
Housing information also available but not gender disaggregated so we can’t see female homelessness.
